2022 Grammy Week Schedule Revealed: MusiCares Event for Joni Mitchell, Black Music Collective and More [DETAILS]

Following its controversial postponement and search for venues, the Recording Academy finally announced that it would hold the event on April 3 this year at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

But with the new venue, which is the Academy’s first time in Sin City, schedules for side activities for “music’s biggest night” were recently revealed.

According to the announcement, this year’s week-long celebration will feature virtual and live elements.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement that Grammy week and music’s biggest night in Las Vegas will be “unforgettable.”

“The magic of the Grammy’s, coupled with the grandeur of Las Vegas, guarantees a star-studded week of next-level entertainment, innovation and celebration.” Mason continued.

2022 Grammy Week Schedule

“Grammy in the Schools Fest” will kick off Grammy Week 2022 from March 28-30, 2022. GITS Fest is a four-day virtual festival celebrating music and music education during the week leading up to the Grammy Awards.

The virtual event for MusiCares Music on a Mission will take place on March 30 at 5:00 p.m. PT. “MusiCares Music on a Mission” is a virtual fundraiser honoring the resilience of the music community, deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Grammy Museum also announced the “Grammy in the Schools Salute To Music Education ft. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats,” held at Mandalay Bay, House of Blues in Las Vegas on March 31.

From April, two key events. On the morning of April 1st, a private “Grammy U Masterclass With Hannah Lux Davis”, director of the music videos for “thank u, next” and “7 rings” by Ariana Grande, and “Say So” by Doja Cat. Although private, the class will be streamed live on the Academy’s official YouTube channel.

In the afternoon, The Recording Academy will host the “MusiCares Person of the Year Honoring Joni Mitchell” awards ceremony at the MGM Grand Conference Center Marquee Ballroom at 5:00 p.m.

On the eve of the Grammy telecast, the Recording Academy will host three back-to-back events beginning with the “Grammy Fund Breakfast.”

Next, the breakfast follows the “24th Annual Entertainment Law Initiative Honoring Susan Genco.” A luncheon and program established in partnership with the nation’s most prominent entertainment attorneys to promote discussion of compelling legal issues and trends in the music industry.

On the evening of April 2, the Black Music Collective‘s Grammys week-long celebration will be held at an as-yet-undisclosed location. The BMC brings together black creators and professionals to honor their countless contributions to the music industry.

On April 3, “Music’s Biggest Night” begins at noon for the “Awards Premiere Ceremony” at the MGM Grand Conference Center Marquee Ballroom.

While the 64th Annual Grammy Awards telecast will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PT.
