Bus equipped with a studio reaching government schools to teach music
New Delhi: Music lessons are arriving these days in government schools in Delhi via a bus in an effort to prepare future musicians. The buses were prepared by an organization called “Manzil Mystics” in conjunction with the Delhi government. It is entirely dedicated to music with facilities for theory lessons, recording and a stage for presentation.
Delhi public school children arrived for a lesson on this bus on Wednesday. Thirteen-year-old Sonam studies in the seventh standard of Delhi government’s sister Nivedita Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya. Sonam said, “I’ve been learning music for a year. It’s the second day of class on the music bus.
This is very beneficial for us because before we had to go ourselves for music lessons, now this bus is coming to us. Sonam shared that her family members also support her in learning music.

Ten-year-old Shabnam studies in the sixth grade with Sister Nivedita Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya. “I’ve been learning music for a year. Music is taught well on the music bus and I try to learn as much as possible, ”Shabnam said. She said she lives at Defense Colony and after hearing about her music bus lessons, more children in her neighborhood want to join the class.
Apart from these two, other children were present in today’s music bus class.
Manzil Mystics co-founder Anurag Hoon was seen teaching these children the nuances of music. Hoon said he also studied at a public school in Delhi. While learning music, he thought about giving music lessons to underprivileged children who want to learn music but don’t have enough resources, he said.
“We wanted to teach music to children in Delhi public schools at the same level as the level of music taught in private schools. SBI Card has helped us in this area. We were funded by their CSR initiatives. The Delhi government is also supporting us. Along with this project, support from the Delhi government has also been received in other music related projects, ”Hoon added.
