Capitol Records has teamed up with Top Dawg Entertainment, the label of Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock.

The two companies will work together to feature up-and-coming artist Doechii, who has signed with Capitol.

Capitol’s partnership with TDE comes three months after Michelle Jubelirer assumed the role of President and CEO of Capitol Music Group (as of December 2021).

The Tampa-based rapper, singer and dancer Doechii has, to date, released the EPs Oh the places you’ll go (2020) and WITHOUT BRA (2021).

The only Yucky Blucky Fruit Cake also generated more than 32 million streams on Spotify, Capitol says.

The announcement follows the release of Doechii’s first TDE track Persuasivewhich was produced by Kal Banks (Isaiah Rashad, J. Cole, SiR) and produced by Anthony ‘Top Dawg’ Tiffith.

Doechii, which featured on TDE label signer Isaiah Rashad Wat U Sedwas named one of Spotify’s “Most Essential Artists to Watch in 2022”.

Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) was founded in 2004 by record producer Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, whose first signing was a 15-year-old Compton artist – Kendrick Lamar.

The label has sold over 10 million units combined in the United States alone.
