Nashville, Tennessee, recording artists Gabe Lee and Harper O’Neill will be featured in the opening event of a songwriter series announced by the Crossroads Music team.

The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 7 at the Jackson County Visitor Center, 100 N. Broadway St., Seymour.

Shawn Busby, Chairman of the Board of Crossroads, said the two songwriters will share the stage for songs and stories.

“The Visitor Center is a great venue for this kind of intimate musical experience, but seating is limited, so advance tickets are highly recommended,” he said.

Tickets are $20 and are available at eventbrite.com or at the Welcome Center.

Lee is increasingly known for his ability to detail the intricacies of daily life, the small distinctions that leave some on the fringes and others in the mainstream, and the details that remain long after a lover is gone.

His second album in as many years, “Honky Tonk Hell,” finds him delving deeper into themes not far from his own life – exactly what it meant to grow up in Nashville and what it means to live there. still being a songwriter, what it’s like to settle into adulthood and the monotony and occasional heartache it can hold and the bits and pieces from a younger time that didn’t quite work out as expected.

The way he tells these stories is through tales of men on the run, lovers who depart, and vivid imagery, inspired by everything from biblical stories to small forgotten towns and the people who inhabit them.

Hailing from Richardson, Texas, O’Neill is a rising voice in the Nashville country music scene. His Texas songwriting roots mixed with sonic influences from genres such as soul and southern rock give his style a fresh and unique sound. She draws inspiration from writers and artists she admires like Patty Griffin, Carole King, Haim and Lucie Silvas.

She recently joined the True Grit Talent Agency roster and is thrilled to be filming her highly anticipated debut album, due out this year.

The second event in the Songwriters Series will feature Jackson County’s own voice in Nashville, Stephanie Lambring, with Nicholas Jamerson at 7 p.m. on May 5 at the Welcome Center. Tickets for this show are also available at eventbrite.com.
