Governor Abbott Announces Community Music Workshop in Smithville | Texas Governor’s Office

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Music Office (TMO), the City of Smithville and the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce will co-host a Music Friendly Community Workshop on Tuesday, August 10.

Chip Adams, TMO Community Relations and Outreach Specialist, will be on hand to explain the Music Friendly Community designation and answer questions.

Participation in TMO’s Music Friendly Community program provides communities in Texas with a network to foster the development of the music industry and sends a clear message to industry professionals that certified communities are serious about attracting and developing growth. of the music industry. The Smithville workshop is the first step in the certification process. Once completed, Smithville will join over 20 other Texas cities that have achieved the coveted “Music Friendly” designation.
