Mumbai Police recreated a song by Kishore Kumar.

Mumbai Police have won many fans for their social media presence. With witty responses to citizen queries and an enviable memes game that may bring millennials to shame, Mumbai Police has been a huge hit with social media users for some time. Now, with the latest Instagram post, they’ve won even more hearts. The department achieved this by sharing a Mumbai Police Band video recreating the Bollywood classic Mere Sapno Ki Rani. The band can be seen performing the instrumental version of Kishore Kumar’s classic in the presence of a conductor, who is also a policeman.

The group’s video, named Khaki Studio, is interspersed with iconic visuals of Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore from the original. The 1969 film track Aradhana was composed by the legendary SD Burman.

Sharing the video, Mumbai Police wrote: “An evergreen question and an iconic song by Kishore Kumar – Mere Sapno Ki Rani Kab Ayegi Tu», Adds the same in Marathi.

The download provided details of the song in the title and Mumbai Police also added “Khaki Studio”, “Musical Mondays” and “Mumbai Police Band” in the hashtags.

The video, which lasts more than 4 minutes, caught the attention of social media users, who praised the police for their talent. One person wrote: “This is so perfect.”

Another fan of the Mumbai Police Department said, “Simply the best in India. The police and everything. “

One user called it “Classic”.

Several others followed suit and described the video as “perfect”, “amazing” and “lovely”.

This isn’t the first time in the recent past that Khaki Studio has won hearts online. During Navratri last week, the group performed a mix of special festive songs to please the citizens of Mumbai, who refrained from celebrating Navratri in large groups in light of COVID-19.

Sharing the video, the police department said, “An impromptu dedication to all the Mumbaikars, who have resisted the temptation to come together to garba this Navratri. Here’s a quick medley from the Mumbai Police Khaki Studio for a quick home celebration.

Looked.

With such talent, we are sure the Mumbai Police will have us all dancing to their tunes for a long time.
