The music museum is a proud participant in Celebrate musica free worldwide celebration of music on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France under the name Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 750 cities in 120 countries.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Celebrate music is open to anyone wishing to participate. Musicians of all types – young and old, amateurs and professionals, of all musical persuasions – pour into the streets, parks, plazas and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors and strangers. All of this is free and open to the public.

The Music Museum joins the global celebration of Music Day with a new special exhibition titled “What good is music?” and musical entertainment all day long. There’s something for everyone at the Fête de la Musique!

Inside the museum galleries (with “Pay-What-You-Wish” entrance):

Scheduled event:

ALL DAY (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) – What is the music for? Gallery opening
Discover in preview the new exhibition of the Museum of Making Music: What good is music? Chances are you have some ideas about what “good music” is. But what about good music? What is music for? What good is music? What is it for you, for us and for the world? We invite you to reflect on these questions and join us in a conversation about the goodness of music!
