Music Monday Featured Artist: Hannah Strumner
New single from singer/songwriter Hannah Strumner: Are You Ready to Let Go. A preview of the captivating debut album fueled by the soul of country music.
With only a pen, paper and a toy microphone, Hannah Strumner started writing and singing songs at the age of 5. Much of his youth was not easy. Strumner was bullied in school and used music as an outlet throughout his childhood. Ultimately, it led her to turn adversity into a special gift. Today, she continues to pursue her dreams of love in the countryside. On June 25, Strumner released his latest single titled Are You Ready to Let Go, featuring Sam Henry. The gripping country song encompasses the difficulty of moving on and letting go after heartbreak – a timeless piece for all to hear.
“I wrote this song during a very difficult time in my life,” Strumner said. “In the midst of my situation, music continued to be my courage. It eased the discomfort of leaving relationships that I didn’t think would end. This song is an embodiment of everything I felt. We all live and we all learn. I really hope my music can help others through a little something called life.
Recording the music video for Are You Ready to Let Go was one of Strumner’s most memorable moments. After some time working on the song, she asked her close friend, Sam Henry, to feature in the single. “We were shooting the music video in 17 degree weather,” Strumner recalls. “Sam Henry and I were so cold we had to do an excessive number of jumping jacks just to feel warmer, but it was worth it! The music video is such a beautiful representation of the song and how much it means to me that people hear it and appreciate it.
His early years were spent in Burbank, California, where the initial spark for singing and songwriting took off. At 16, she moved just outside of Boise, Idaho, where she rediscovered the sound and vibrancy of country music. It immediately lit up his soul. She came to realize that country music offered the opportunity to tell a story in a beautiful and artistic way – which was exactly what she needed. After a time of inspiring and exploring the beauty and depth of the genre, Strumner never looked back.
The independent artist spent long days at the Tonic Room Recording and Mastering Studio, which resulted in the release of numerous singles. Writing and performing all of his music to date, Strumner is optimistic about the future ahead.
Are you ready to let go is bound to be stuck in your head. The catchy song immerses listeners in a relatable experience. Lyrically, it describes cutting ties with the person you thought was the one that results in only hearing echoes of their voice in their absence. The single will be on Strumner’s self-titled debut album due out in July, available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and for purchase on CD.
Keep an eye out for Hannah Strumner. She is a name you will probably hear again.
