ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – This Wednesday, rock band Foreigner will play at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center and they won’t be alone.

A high school choir will be part of the legendary rock band’s show.

The talented Odessa high school choir team will open for the rock band on Wednesday night. Stopped by OHS today, and from what I heard the team is well prepared for the opportunity of a lifetime.

For the third time in the history of Odessa High School, the choir will be part of Foreigner’s show, but instead of joining the band during the show for a song, the choir will be the band’s opening act for the first time.

“They told us we could open up to them and sing our own music. I thought we could do that, so they called, and he and I talked and it worked out and it was great. Odessa High School Choir Leader, Ginger Storey

The students have been preparing for weeks now, and while some are confident, there are nerves.

A senior says it’s important to band together and support all choir members so they can all perform at their best.

“I just try to be the greatest leader that I can be and try to support, try to uplift people when they’re feeling nervous, you can’t prepare to go on stage singing in front of people you never can it’s just something you have to learn so i’ve been doing this for a while so i’m used to it you just have to support people and uplift them 12th grade , Aiden Dickson

It will be a night these children, and I hope the public will never forget

“It’s really good exposure, Bronco Legacy this year is a super strong group, and they’re ready for people to see how good they are and so are we, it’s a group of people who wouldn’t have normally don’t get to see this band, so it’s exposing them to a whole bunch of people who wouldn’t see them.Odessa High School Associate Principal Rob Rodgers

And if you can’t make it to the show on Wednesday to see these talented students, you can check them out on May 6-7 at the Odessa High School Performance Art Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are sold here.
