Singer-songwriter gives free concert on Frank Phillips Lawn on Tuesday
At the end of the summer, the historic Frank Phillips Home will once again host live music this Tuesday. The popular “Music on the Grounds” series invites Bartians to gather on the lawn of the downtown “Uncle Frank” home for music and camaraderie.
Tuesday’s summer season finale features singer-songwriter Ann-Janette Webster and her band with a free concert at 6 p.m.
Director of Strategic Planning and Events Coordinator Kaci Fouts said all of the staff look forward to showcasing the scenic grounds and welcoming the community for an extra relaxing evening on Tuesday.
âThere is no better place in town to have live music and a picnic! We want guests to come and relax on the lawn, reconnect with people and hear great music from Ann-Janette and her trio, âsaid Kaci Fouts. “Ann-Janette always brings a fun mix of songs that everyone loves, so we think this will be the perfect way to end a great music season in style.”
Concert-goers are welcome to pack a picnic and bring their own drinks, games, and lawn chairs for this free family event. The public is encouraged to come early to pick the perfect spot on the mansion’s shaded lawn.
Tuesday night music for “Ann-Janette & the Evolution” is made possible by Truity Credit Union. The popular group includes Ann-Janette Webster on piano / vocals, Donn McCallister on percussion and Mike Hough at base Upright. The trio will entertain audiences with a mix of jazz standards, pop music from different eras as well as their own unique original piano songs.
Webster says she and the band always look forward to being a part of the outdoor music series at Frank Phillips Home.
âWe love how the famous Frank Phillips House lawn has become a beautiful new outdoor venue for live music,â said Webster. âMy family and I attended several of these outdoor events this summer and enjoyed the evenings so much. So being able to host one of these festive evenings makes me happy. I hope we will have a lot of people on Tuesday to end the summer well!
The free “Music of the Grounds” concert begins at 6 pm Tuesday and is free and open to the public.
