“The music industry is kinder to male artists than women”

Nigerian musician and music director Michael Collins Ajereh, widely known in showbiz as Don Jazzy, explained why male artists tend to thrive in the Nigerian music industry compared to their female counterparts.
According to the CEO of the Mavin Records label, the music industry is kinder to male musicians, hinting that this is why they thrive than their female counterparts.

The music director was a co-owner of the late Mo ‘Hits Records label with Dbanj made it known in a recent interview with on-air Nigerian media figures Toolz and Gbemi.
In his opinion, women are hurting adding that over the years he has found that it is a difficult market for women.

In his submission, he said;
“The industry is generally kinder to male artists, and I don’t know why. In this music industry, I have noticed that women are suffering. Over the years, I have found it to be a tough market for women. Everyone wants to have sex with them and how many people are they going to have sex with? It’s ridiculous.”
