UB40 will live stream Napa Show on YouTube – Billboard
UB40 and live streaming studio Bulldog DM have announced that the UK band’s first-ever live performance will be streamed on YouTube on Wednesday during their live show at the Uptown Theater in Napa. The concert will be part of a two-hour broadcast by the band Youtube from 20h
The reggae/pop legends are currently touring the US in support of their 2021 album Bigga Baggariddim and their latest single “Champion” (The official 2022 Commonwealth Games anthem) ft. Dapz On The Maps & Gilly G – part of an all-star album celebrating the XXII Commonwealth Games in the band’s hometown of Birmingham. The band also just released a new rendition of “Red Red Wine” featuring the lead singer. Matt Doylewho joined the group in 2021 following the retirement of the longtime singer Duncan Campbell in 2021. With the tour just days away, UB40 realized the right time had come to livestream the intimate performance from the Uptown Theater.
“With Matt Doyle joining the band last year and touring as lead singer on this summer’s incredible US tour and the recent Commonwealth Games, I’m so proud of how our band has evolved together,” said the UB40 founder. Robin Campbell. “We’ve been looking to do this with Bulldog DM for some time and now is the perfect opportunity to introduce our newest members, singer Matt Doyle and rapper Gilly G, to our fans around the world on YouTube – and it’s is free !”
CEO and Founder of Bulldog DM John Petrocelli has long hoped to work with UB40 and says the band and Bulldog agreed the Uptown Theater show had just the right feeling and timing.
