Up the Junction and Cool for Cats songwriter to headline NHS festival in Coventry
University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire Charity are hosting a summer celebration to help raise vital funds for patients and their families. Charity Fest will take place at Assembly Festival Gardens on Saturday August 20 and will include concerts and entertainment throughout the day, as well as gourmet food trucks and fairground games – something to keep the whole family entertained.
Squeeze founding member Chris Difford will perform at the event, alongside musical acts to be announced over the coming weeks. All funds raised will be used to make things better for staff, patients and their families at Coventry University Hospital and St Cross’s Hospital, Rugby.
Alongside Squeeze songwriting partner Glenn Tillbrook, Difford was responsible for some of the best-known British pop songs of the late 1970s and early 80s, including Up the Junction, Cool For Cats, Labeled with Love and many more. The group is also responsible for being a springboard for the career of Jools Holland, who founded the group alongside Tillbrook and Difford.
